Dead leaves the turn brown generally stay attached.
You can generally remove these leaves by giving a gentle tug downwards.
If they do not detach use a sharp clean garden knife to cut the leaves near the trunk.
Keep in mind that removing the dead leaves can leave the trunk exposed to the sun and temperature changes and will increase stress to the palm.
Spent flowers can be removed as well as any pups that may grow from the palm.
