What’s wrong with sweet cherry tree

What’s wrong with my sweet cherry tree and how can I fix it? I live in WV. I just bought a sweet cherry tree about a month ago and planted it in the ground. I dug a hole that was 2 times the size of the bucket and 8 inches deeper (which is what the directions that came with the plant said to do). The leaves are getting darker from the inside of the tree toward the outside and now there is a little bit of yellow powder on on the leaves.

Things that might help to know: I mainly used the dirt from the hole I dug to refill the hole after I put the tree in it and this year cicadas are here. They are always on the tree. I flick them off every day.

You may need to plant more then one tree for pollination unless you have planted a self fertile variety. Stella and Sweetheart are cultivators that are self fertile and can be planted as a single tree.

Cherry Tree’s need a rich, loamy soil that is well draining. They will not do well in poorly draining soil.

The tree should be placed into the planting hole at the same depth as it was growing in the pot.

Make sure that the soil was tamped down and all air pockets removed.

Water as needed but make sure that the soil is not soggy.

This may be overwatering check the soil moisture by digging down about 5 to 8 inches. If it is wet, make sure you allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
