Q.What’s Wrong With Indoor Key Lime, And How To Remedy It

Zone 10001 | Cjj44 added on October 20, 2022 | Answered

I have a Keylime, about 3 1/2 years old, in a 10 inch pot. I took it out of the pot to check the roots, so I know it is not root bound and I don’t think the roots looked all that energetic.it is potted in citrus soil. It has given quite a few limes, and several months ago it had about 10 flowers, but lost all the little limes. About a month a month and a half ago, it started losing its leaves. Some of the leaves look a bit mottled, but using a 20x loupe I haven’t been able to see any insects. I did have some woollies, but I was able to get that under control and I don’t see any adult ones now. The plant is in a south window, which is all I have so there is no option to put it somewhere else, and I cannot put it outside. I use BGI CitrusGain food. The only thing I can think is that I may have overwatered it, or it is just doing ma seasonal rest. I would appreciate any suggestions to help it thrive once again.
