Is it alright to ask this question on this site since it’s not a “gardening” question? I’m 87 & don’t have a computer,only my phone

That is a gardening related question. There could be some rot going on. Remove the blackened leaves. Repot the plant in fresh soil and sterilized container, and take care not to overwater. These articles may help:
