What’s eating my Peppers

I planted red bell pepper plants and they seem to be healthy except every time there is a bloom, something seems to be eating the stem about halfway between the plant and the bloom. What could be eating just that part of the plant?

I do not believe it is any type of pest. It’s possible that the plants may be dropping the blossoms. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/pepper/pepper-blossoms-falling-off.htm [1]
