We purchased flowering tulips from a shop in Aberdeen, and would like to grow tulips in the same vase. It held approx 14 tulips last year

All tulips will survive, temporarily, in a vase. They are not meant to last more than a year, since they will not have a dormancy with being grown in a vase, so they will not survive too much past that.
