Q.What Type Tomato Plant Do I Have.
About 6 years ago a tomato plant showed up in my back yard. I let it grow and grow it did. I’m guessing the main vine was 12 ft. long. The tomatoes were pale yellow and 1/2 inch in size mostly in groups of 5. Every year since then these tomato plants come up all over my back yard. Don’t know how they move around so much because the birds and chipmunks don’t seem to eat them. The tomatoes are very sweet and have a great taste. I went to the web to see if I could find out what type of tomatoes the are but there were so many that look close to mine. I think the might be White Current. Can you help me? Tomatoes left to open pollinate then go to seed will not have a name. They will be their own set of genetics. You can compare and get close to knowing a lineage but, ultimately, it will still be a guess. Over generations, you will notice that the fruit may change, even more, as they stabilize, and settle into the most dominant genes.
