Q.What type is my ficus tree

Marshmellow Fluff added on April 15, 2018 | Answered

I want to know what type of ficus tree I have. I just got it and fell in love with it. It was alone in the shop and didn’t have any labels or instructions of how to take care of it. I assume that it’s a ficus tree but I haven’t seen any pictures of ficus trees with those growths from the ground so that confused me. I have no idea how to take care of it but I really want to know.

Those are not part of your tree. Those can actually be taken out, as they are probably doing more harm to the tree than good. It appears to be a Ficus Benjaminii. This is the most common type. This article will help you on their care: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/ficus/ficus-tree-care.htm
