What to Plant Against a Hot Wall

We’re in the process of re-doing the backyard and we have a narrow (~2 ft deep) spot against the wall of the house that faces southwest. The soil here will be amended when we figure out what to plant there. We’d like a vine that is very drought-tolerant, but will have flowers in the summer to cover the side of the house. Either evergreen or deciduous if fine. What can we plant that can withstand full sun, reflected light and living next to a foundation? I’m stumped!

Have you considered trumpet vine? People either love them or hate them as they are near impossible to get rid of once established, but it does fit the needs you have listed.
