what to plant?

Question

We have a patio/walkway in the front of house that faces west. So it is shady in the morning but gets sun all afternoon. Thinking of putting a row of boxwood to give privacy while sitting there. Not too high. What other plants would you suggest to make it a relaxing spot to sit. Something that would attract birds and butterflies?
