Bulbs forced in water need to go into soil indoors as soon as the bloom is over. Some recommend that they be tossed out because it is hard to re-nourish a bulb that has been depleted through water-forcing. Keep the leaves going as long as possible. A south facing window or supplemental lighting will help. Leaves will turn yellow and die in about 6 weeks just as they would do outdoors. At that point store them indoors as you would any bulb and plant them outdoors in spring. The hyacinth and tulips are unlikely to bloom again this year but may bloom next year. Tulips are less reliable, especially hybrids.
