leggy gardenia

What to do with an aging gardenia that’s very branchy and only small blooms at the top? The gardenia is very leggy, long and tall with only a few blooms at present at the top. It was planted many years ago and not pruned. Still alive and I would like to know what to do to keep it alive and when to prune.

It is best to prune your Gardenia in the summer after it is done blooming.

It is also important to use sharp clean tools to prune the plant.
