What to do in very cold area for Roses

I have planted rose stems in early and mid November 2016 in Toronto (very cold weather). After 6 weeks when I’m expecting to see roots in my 30 planted see-through cups, it will be late December and early January, still very cold. What should I do with my rooted roses in January 2017? Transfer each of them to a bigger bowl? Can I keep them in their current small pots until spring arrives?

They need to be transplanted to larger pots or containers that have drainage holes in the bottom. The root systems need room to grow and develop. Then once all danger of frost has passed in your area transplant them to their garden or rose bed locations. When transplanting them to the pots, water them in with some water that has a product called Super Thrive in the water. It helps them deal with transplant shock and stress. The same thing should be done when transplanted to their garden homes only add some root stimulator to the same water at that time. Continue watering the garden transplants with such mix for the next 5 to 6 waterings. Enjoy!!
