What to Do at End of Season?

My husband and I planted our first vegetable garden (raised beds) this year. What do we do when everything’s harvested? Do we pull up everything from the ground?

I understand that we should plant different things in each bed next year, but I want to be sure that we are actually supposed to pull up the roots and everything of what’s currently there.

Yes, once everything has been harvested for the season, clean up time is in order. Simply pull up all the leftover plant debris and either discard it or place it in the compost pile (provided it’s all healthy–i.e. free of pests or disease). Once the soil warms back up in early spring, you can start amending the soil for the round of crops.
