What to do after the hyacinth bulb flowers

My hyacinth bulb flowered in water and once the flowers faded I cut them off. The greenery remains healthy looking. Would it be reasonable to reuse the bulb? If so how would it be done?

Wait until it enters dormancy. This can be helped along by cooler temperatures. Then remove the old dead growth and store. You can plant it next season either in ground or in container.
