What to apply after power raking thatch from lawn

On your web site at “https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/lawn-care/lgen/lawn-thatch-control.htm” in the paragraph about “Removing Thatch in Lawns” it indicates, “In one week, apply one pound per 1,000 square feet of lawn and water in completely.” One pound per 1,000 of what?
