What soil mixture is best for hot peppers?
I'm a beginner gardener. My first year of gardening was this year in the summer months and I used a raised bed. I didn't test my soil, and I don't think I had the right soil for my peppers, and my garden was just completely horrible. All of my plants died. I had too much disease, and it's stressful. So next spring I plan on growing Cayenne long slim, Jalapeno, Serrano, and Hot Banana peppers in raised beds. Would 50% top soil and 50% compost be alright? Also, what pH should my soil be for next spring? Thanks.
There is always next year! That's the great thing about gardening, your always learning and each year is something new.

Winter is a great time to do research and get those raised beds ready for next planting season.
