Q.What plants are these

davewalsh29 added on June 18, 2018 | Answered

Good morning. Can you please tell me what these plants are? The flowers on both are already fading as you can see so they are spring flowering plants. The potted one came back after last year but the bush is new.

Can you also confirm how to trim them for next year if they are both perrenials?

Thank you

Dave

The first photo of the flowering shrub is rhododendron. The second is a type of dicentra. There are many species and it will be hard to pintpoint the exact cultivar.

These two articles will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/rhododendron/rhododendron-care.htm

This will be the closest species to your dicentra, and will have similar care: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/dutchmans-breeches/dutchmans-breeches-wildflower.htm
