What Plants Are Good for Direct Sun Then Partial Sun During the Day

What plants are good for balcony gardens when the sunlight changes during the day? I get full sun and then partial sun. I want color but I also want to add color, which plants are good for me? I live in Cincinnati,  OH and the weather is always changing. I need plants and flowers that will withstand the changing weather we have. Please help. I want to try Boston ferns to hang outside, but afraid they would burn. Would that be true?

Boston ferns probably not all that good for that, but almost any full sun plant at your local nursery will do well. Since you want color, I would recommend using annuals. Petunias, Celosia, cosmos, dahlias, snap dragons and other full sun annuals will do very well for you.
