What kind of palm do I have?

Hello,

I have had a palm since it was only about a foot tall. Through many military moves, it has survived and grown. Now that we are settled, I would like to know what it is and give it a little more attention than a splash of water and a turn. Would you please identify it for me? Is there a way to keep the leaf tips from turning brown? Thank you in advance for your reply. I had trouble attaching a photo. If it didn’t attach, please let me know and I’ll try again.
