What is wrong with my plant?

This plant was only labeled persicaria when I got it, I think it is persicaria virginiana, Virginia knotweed. The plant was much greener and had no holes in it when I got it, but it has progressively gotten worse. I have never seen any bugs on it. It is indoors, I keep it mostly moist but let it dry out a bit every now and then, and it gets lots of indirect morning sun. I am worried because this plant is near many other plants, I don’t want a bug to spread to my other plants, but none of them have had any holes so far.

This plant is normally grown as a ground cover in a shade or part shade location; zones 4-8.
Planting area should be consistently moist.
Try increasing the light to your little plant and be more consistent with watering.
I was not able to find any information on growing this perennial indoors.
