What is the max temperature for wintering tulips indoors

Will tulip bulbs thrive if planted in pots and kept in a working refrigerator over the winter? What is the lowest outdoor temp for wintering tulip bulbs over the winter?

From Flowerbulbcrazy.com-Keep your stored bulbs in a dry, cool (45° to 55°), dark and ventilated area until spring. I would not recommend the refrigerator. I put mine in sand or sawdust in the barn.
