What is the best way to remove a weed which has a clover type leaf with a cluster of tubers.

I have a small area of a vegetable patch which has a massive amount of weeds as described above and I do not seem to be able to remove it. It continually returns more profusely than when I start to try and remove it.

Hope you can provide an answer to my problem.

It sounds like oxalis. If so, this article should help:
