Q.best large tomato that grows well in Minnesota

Zone Brainerd, MN 56401 | jumper added on August 16, 2015 | Answered

I am looking for a good tomato that will grow and produce well in west central MN. Our growing season is relatively short so the largest varieties, such as Beefsteak, are not an option.

As a MN gardener also, I might recommend some of the larger heirloom varieties.

Mortgage Lifter, Ananas Noir, Natures Riddle preform well in my garden and have good production per plant.
If your not starting your own seeds and plants, many garden centers are now carrying heirloom varieties.

When looking for seeds try to find varieties that are 80 -85 days and less.
