Q.What Is Non Alkaline Soil
I am new to gardening. I have made a bed which currently has no soil. I need non alkaline fertile soil. I need to buy bags of it to fill the bed. Please can somebody help with my question?

Non alkaline would be in the neutral pH range, around 7. Anything above that is alkaline. Below 7 you are heading toward acidic soil. Check the bags of garden soil you buy to see if it gives a pH range. You also can mix your own soil with compost, topsoil, and peat moss. As you work on your bed, you can get a soil test to see if the pH needs to be adjusted (we have articles for that, just do a search if the need comes up.)
