Q.What Is Happening To My Variegated Brugmansia?
My plant had spider mites, so I stripped all the leaves and cut the plant back in the spring. The mites are gone and the leaves are back. The plant is growing, but the older leaves are becoming very thin. The edges sometimes curl, and some of the leaves have some edges that appear to have been frozen although the plant lives indoors in 72 degrees and humidity between 40-50%. It’s not dropping leaves but it also hasn’t flowered. I don’t think it’s growing as fast as it has in the past. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would still check for mites and treat for them. They hide everywhere. Even if you take all of the leaves off, they can still stay around. It might be that they are starting to come back. Make sure that the soil is not being overwatered, as well. For mites, I like to use neem oil. It is completely safe for plants and humans, and is very effective against mites. Outside of that, proper care is all that you can give it.
