Something has been munching on the leaves of your plant. It could be caterpillars, beetles, or other insect pests. See this article’s list of “chewing insects” for what the culprit could be:

Check around the plant, its soil and the area it’s been growing in for any visible bugs. You can also protect your plants with a general insect repellent/insecticide such as neem oil:
