Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comThe ‘fronds’ are cut into small (1-3 cms) lengths and dragged to the centre of the rosette where they are fixed with a kind of web. A sawdust is deposited around the middle of the rosette, I am presuming this is the ‘remains’ of the fronds and the insect has taken what it needs into the space behind the rosette leaves.
Some of my plants are to large to remove from the tree on which they are growing which rules out soaking in an insecticide mix.

This looks like ant damage. Some ants will make nests like the one that you are seeing here!
