Q.What is causing these marks on my tree?

Zone West Columbia, SC 29170 | Anonymous added on June 17, 2020 | Answered

I have a Kwanzan Cherry Blossom Tree that has these weird marks on the trunk of the tree. I put insecticide and fungicide on all my trees and plants to prevent any pests or fungal diseases.

These are called lenticels and they are present on all cherries to a degree. In fact, they are present in almost all of the Prunus genus. This is no cause for concern. It is just a part of the tree.
