Q.What is causing the blossom buds to fall off my hibiscus plant

Zone Don't know | moody added on June 24, 2012 | Answered

I don’t know if the Hibiscus plant is tropical or not. . . purchased at Lowes without an information tab on it. It’s growing in a large container. About 50+ buds have fallen off without blooming. I found and removed a small green worm once. No more. Thank you for any information.

It could be a number of insects causing this to happen, but thrips or gall midge are the most common pests that affect the buds. These articles may help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/hibiscus/hibiscus-flowers-hibiscus-blossoms-falling-off-plant.htm
