watering amount/schedule for pickle plants

What is a typical watering amount/schedule for pickle plants? I am on my second attempt at growing pickles (Boston cucs), and I think I might have over watered my plants. . . again. But I really want to make sure I am not under-watering as well, any help or direction is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Generally, your plants need about 2-4 inches of water a week. Also, it is better to have 1-2 long waterings per week than watering everyday for a short period. Long waterings encourage deeper roots and healthier plants.
