What can I used as a sealant for starting fig cuttings?

I would actually not recommend using a sealant for starting fig cuttings. The roots develop from cut areas and a sealant would interfere with that.

I would recommend using either an anti-fungal or rooting hormone. Honey actually is a great one to use. Here is more information on that:
