What is a good high sun, heat tolerant and afternoon shade flowering plant? There is a flower bed that gets direct morning and noon sun with full heat and then afternoon full shade. What flowering plants are best for this scenario in a flower bed and in pots?

If you are looking for annuals, I would recommend petunias. If you are looking for perennials, daylilies would work well there.
