What I Need To Take Off The Grass And Level The Lawn

I have a small garden about 7 meters long it is all weed no grass and not level. I would like to know what is the best, easiest, and cheapest way to take the weeds off and level the garden ready for grass seeding and would seeding the lawn be the best option.

If you have the time, the easiest and cheapest method would be to solarize the soil by covering it with clear plastic and leaving it for six weeks during the hottest part of the summer. That should kill weeds as well as disease organisms.

Then you can level the soil with purchased topsoil from the garden center or a bulk dirt store.

If you don't have the time, you can kill the weeds with a product containing glyphosate. Read and follow all label instructions.

Grass seed would be an inexpensive option to seed the lawn, but you must take care of it with proper watering, etc.
