What Happens To The Layering Effect When You Turn Over Your Compost Heap After 3 Or 4 Days?

I am building a new compost pile. I’ve layered it with greens and browns and scraps. Now, after a week it is time to turn it. It will now be a total stirred up mix. Is that what is supposed to happen?

Yes. The l layering is just to get the right amount of greens and browns added to the pile. Carry on!
