spot fungus on dwarf Bonanza peach tree leaves

What does spot fungus on dwarf Bonanza peach tree leaves look like, and is there a homemade treatment for this fungus? I have noticed I am getting a dark purple spot on the leaves of my dwarf Bonanza peach tree. I have it planted in a foe plastic 1/2 whiskey barrel container. I received this dwarf Bonanza peach as a bare root in either 2010 or 2011 and had planted it in large black nursery container, and this spring just about the time the buds started to open, I transplanted it into the 1/2 whiskey barrel. Last year I had oodles of little peaches, but this year maybe about 25-30 and then we had a few cold snaps after the fruit set and I lost all the fruit but about 5 little peaches. I had ladybugs in early spring on it, as well as green lacewing searching it for pest insects. I have a lot of leaves that look chewed around the edges and the purple spots. Could it be the dark purple spots are spots fungus? That is what the lady at the local nursery said it sounds like when I told her about the spots on the phone.

Based on your description, I would say your tree has “bacterial spot”. Here is a sample photo of bacterial spot on a peach tree to aid in your identification:

There are no chemicals or fungicides that will eliminate the disease – only to try and suppress it. At this time, spray applications seem to be confined to commercial operations and not deemed practical for a home orchard.
