Dead Flowers of a Calla Lily

I recently planted a calla lily in my garden. I was away from home for a few days, and we had a really warm, sunny few days and I was unable to water my garden! When I returned, the flowers of the lily had wilted and more or less died off. How do I cut these dead flowers, and will they flower again this year? I’m a fairly new gardener and can manage most plants, but these have left me stumped. Thanks.
Wendy.

You can simply snip the faded flowers off at the base of their stem.

With calla lilies, it is unlikely they will bloom again. They will likely go dormant soon so that they can build their energy for next year’s blooms.
