Q.What Cover Crop Can Be Planted Now In Georgia Zone 8a?
I’m so new to farming/gardening. I thought I would plant this spring but I made the mistake of tilling and not covering right away. So, now, my clay soil is very dry, heavy and compacted on top and I don’t even know the further down it goes. Part of the land, I have cardboard and manure placed. Then, I started reading about cover crops and wonder if that will be the better option for me to plant now and plant again in late summer then maybe plant some more and keep going until next spring? I’d like to try planting this fall; but, I don’t know if I can prepare the soil for that. Thank you for your time! Sunshine

You have quite a few options, and your plan to plant now and in Fall will be good.
