Q.What Could Be Eating My Black Eyed Peas OFF The Vine. Eating The Entire Peas And Leaving The Hull On The Ground.

Zone Houston | alzenamcneil added on June 11, 2020 | Answered

Whatever is eating the peas, is doing it at night, because in the morning the ground if full of hulls. So disappointing. Is it ok that I covered the entire area top, and sides with tulle fabric. Am I preventing pollination?

It could be anything from raccoons to hogs, or anything that could be a garden pest. It will be hard to say without catching it in the act.

Covering with a breathable fabric will not hinder pollination. They are self pollinating and require no help, since the reproductive organs contact each other while growing.
