This sounds like a nutrient deficiency, likely iron chlorosis. Here is more information on chlorosis: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/leaf-chlorosis-and-iron.htm [1]
As a precaution, I would fertilize the tree with a general fertilizer too.
