Brown Tips on Crape Mrytle

What causes crape mrytle leaf tips to turn brown? This is the first year. . . good growth, beautiful blooms.

It may not be getting enough water. Brown tips are typically a sign of this. If it has been planted within the past year, it may not have established fully yet. I would increase the amount of water the tree is getting, making sure to water it as far out as the canopy stretches.
