What can I put on lawn to counteract too much chicken manure?

I have 4 chickens on a suburban backyard. They free range around and deposit manure all over yard. In certain areas the soil is very dry on top (dusty & water runs off) and like clay underneath. Only one type of weed grows in these patches. What can I put on these patches to break up the clay but also make the dusty top soil hold more water?
