What can I plant with my hostas to keep deer from nibbling them?

I have 20 hostas beside the shady side of my house. The deer have big bites out of all of them – they are young plants.

I don’t know how to send photos. Sorry.

If you plant ferns, astilbe and columbine in and around your hosta, it may deter the deer (or they may still pick out the hosta!). Here is more:
