Q.Epsom salts on plants

Billie Beck added on June 27, 2011 | Answered

What are the results of adding Epsom salts to plants which are not growing? We have had excessive amounts of rainfall several times this growing season. Some of my plants are not getting any bigger and look wilted with some yellow leaves. Will adding Epsom salts mixed with water help them?

Likely not. This is stunted growth caused by a lack of oxygen to the roots. There is not much you can do for them other than to try to improve their drainage.
