Q.What Are Purple Colored Ground Covers?

Saw them on Hillview Ave., Sarasota FL, outside of Sarasota Memorial Hosp.

My first thought was ajuga, or bugleweed. Our hospital grows petunias as a groundcover. Purple verbena is popular, too, as well as moss phlox and roserock. Here are more possibilities:
