Q.spraying for webworms

Zone Southeast Texas/Gulf Coast region | Anonymous added on June 11, 2016 | Answered

What are precautions for spraying Sevin or Malathion to control webworms on pecan trees that are currently bearing young nuts? Pecan trees are of unknown variety and are about 12-15 years old. Webworms have just recently developed even though it is springtime, and I do not usually see them until fall season. Does not appear to be tentworms.

Since Webworms are generally a fall issue while the tree is not bearing nuts, it may be best left to a profession application of treatment.
