Q.What Are Bind Weed Roots Like? Do They Become Woody When More Developed?

I am digging up bind weed and its root system. However, I am worried that I am digging up roots that belong to other plants, when I am thinking they are invasive bind weed roots. I have found a whole network of roots under the soil, but not all of them have bind weed shoots sprouting up above ground from them. However, they appear to be very invasive, and spreading laterally, with long horizontal roots shooting out and seeming to connect to other plants root systems…..

You are probably safe pulling all that out because bindweed has an extensive root system. The other plant roots are likely growing down and not so far out laterally. Here is more:
