Q.What About The Parent Plant Once Starts Have Been Removed?

Hello, To the point. I took cuttings from my plumeria and they are doing great. The plant from which I took them, now a stump, is not doing well. Is it lost or what am I to do to get it growing again? Thank you, Helen
