Q.Whar Are The Latest Recommendations About Soil When Planting New Plants?

Zone 40207 Louisville KY | Naj added on April 10, 2020 | Answered

I’ve read you shouldn’t use potting soil, sphagnum peat moss and other additives. This goes against everything I was taught over the years by fantastic gardeners. What is the truth here?

That is the thing about this modern age. Anyone can post on the internet, whether true or not.

It is, now, up to each individual to discern between what information is false and what is true through very thorough research. It is helpful to, only, trust collegiate sites or research papers to ensure that the people conducting these experiments have the proper knowledge to do so. That's not to say that there isn't good information on .com sites, but it is best to get information from trusted sources.
