Weigela doesn’t drop brown leaves

Could you please advise what to do with my weigela bush? It has brown, dead leaves all over it that do not drop? Should I trim off all the branches?

Yes, this may be necessary to give it a kickstart for the year. Make sure there is plenty of “give” in the branches and that they are not completely brittle.
